His Ethics with Students

Once a rich student completed a Kham of Qurʾān with Imām Ḥamzah and as was the norm, to exchange gifts, the student sent 1000 dirhams to Imām Ḥamzah. Imām Ḥamzah replied that “I thought he was a man of intellect (referring to the student), how can I accept payment to teach the Qurʾān? instead of , I pray that I get a place in al-firdaus”.

Imām Ḥamzah did not even take a drink of water from the home of a student(as it would be a sort of obligation).
