36: An-Nisa.1

Worship Allah ˹alone˺ and associate none with Him……………………………………….Surely Allah does not like whoever is arrogant, boastful—

Occurrence: Once

Contemplation: In this verse, Allah (SWT) highlights His disapproval of individuals who engage in self-deception and boastfulness. These negative traits hinder one from fulfilling the rights of those around them and may lead to associating partners with Allah. According to an authentic Hadith, even the slightest trace of pride in the heart prevents entry into Jannah. It is imperative that we reflect inwardly and embrace the path of humility. May Allah grant us humility. Ameen!

An-Nisa.2

And when you are greeted, respond with a better greeting or at least similarly. Surely Allah is a ˹vigilant˺ Reckoner of all things.

Occurrence: Once

Recitation Challenge: This is a unique word which has يّ (mushaddah) followed by يْ which is ي madd hence having a total of three ي consecutively so the correct articulation of it is a challenge.

Tajweed Tip: This madd is called Madd Tamkeen. Yaa mushaddah has two letters yaa sakin & yaa with kasra both have to be recited properly and followed by yaa madd with 2 counts.
