Juzz -17
1. Surah Hajj:2 -مُرْضِعَةٍ
يَوْمَ تَرَوْنَهَا تَذْهَلُ كُلُّ مُرْضِعَةٍ عَمَّآ أَرْضَعَتْ وَتَضَعُ كُلُّ ذَاتِ حَمْلٍ حَمْلَهَا وَتَرَى ٱلنَّاسَ سُكَـٰرَىٰ وَمَا هُم بِسُكَـٰرَىٰ وَلَـٰكِنَّ عَذَابَ ٱللَّهِ شَدِيدٌۭ
The Day you see it, every nursing mother will abandon what she is nursing, and every pregnant woman will deliver her burden ˹prematurely˺. And you will see people ˹as if they were˺ drunk, though they will not be drunk; but the torment of Allah is ˹terribly˺ severe.The Word : مُرْضِعَةٍ (meaning Nursing Mother ) occurs once in the Qur’an
Contemplation:
This is a literal description of some of the horrors of Day of Qiyama, a day which will throw people into such a state of sheer horror that the mother will forget the baby at her breast and the pregnant woman will miscarry. she will be distracted by the horror of what she is seeing, which will make her forget the one who is the dearest of all to her and to whom she shows the most compassion. Her shock will make her neglect her infant at the very moment of breastfeeding.
Allah (SWT) says, كُلُّ مُرْضِعَةٍ (every nursing mother), and He did not say a mother who has an infant of breastfeeding age. عَمَّآ أَرْضَعَتْ (her nursling) means, her nursing infant that has not yet been weaned.
Because of the severity of situation, people will lose their minds and man will forget everything he had considered important in this dunya and due to which he had forgotten Day of judgment —so much so that on that Day he will forget even his most cherished possessions and his near and dear ones.
2. Surah Hajj:9-ثَانِىَ عِطْفِهِۦ
ثَانِىَ عِطْفِهِۦ لِيُضِلَّ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ ۖ لَهُۥ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا خِزْىٌۭ ۖ وَنُذِيقُهُۥ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ عَذَابَ ٱلْحَرِيقِ ٩
Turning away ˹in pride˺ to lead ˹others˺ astray from Allah’s Way. They will suffer disgrace in this world, and on the Day of Judgment We will make them taste the torment of burning.The Word : ثَانِىَ عِطْفِهِۦ (Meaning: Twisting his neck ) occurs ثَانِىَ twice & عِطْفِهِۦ once
Recitation challenge: Misreading letters due to its construction
Tajweed tip:The letter ي in the word ثَانِىَ carries fatha and not misread with sakin as ثَانِى , In the next word عِطْفِهِۦ a combination occurs of ع and ط. ع should be recited light (tarqeeq) with complete kasra time. The letter ط with sakin has to be read heavy (tafkheem) with Qalqala {not with Hams which is not its sifaat & changes the letter to ت, (lahn jail, clear mistake) must be avoided}
