عُزَيْرٌ ٱبْنُ 1- At-Tawbah : 30
The Jews say, “Ezra is the son of Allah,” while the Christians say, “The Messiah is the son of Allah.” Such are their baseless assertions, only parroting the words of earlier disbelievers. May Allah condemn them! How can they be deluded ˹from the truth˺?
The word عُزَيْرٌ ٱبْنُ (Ezra is the son of Allah) occurs once in the Qur’an
Recitation Challenge: Tanween followed by Hamzatul Wasl requires a specific rule to be applied. The hidden noon in tanween will take kasra.
Tajweed Tip: If Tanween is followed by Hamzatul Wasl, then the hidden Noon Saakin in Tanween will take Kasra. Note: It is not appropriate Start with the word عُزَيْرٌ ٱبْنُ, which is a bad start as it distorts the meaning to “Ezra is the son of Allah”. The actual meaning is “The Jews said, Ezra is the son of Allah”. It is not appropriate to stop on وَقَالَتِ ٱلنَّصَـٰرَى , which is a bad stop as the meaning is distorted to “The Jews and Christians said that Ezra is the son of Allah”

Recitation Challenge: Reciting the two letters from the same makhraj ه & ء are in succession. Reciting Haa with kasra followed immediately by Hamzah with Dammah requires lot of practice.
Tajweed Tip: Step 1: Pronounce letter ض, with Correct Makhraj with Tafkheem & Itbaaq.
Step 2: Haa & Hamza should be pronounced clearly with proper Harakah (Hafs an Aasim recitation)
Note: In other Qira’ah, this word is pronounced as يُضَـٰهُون. The Hamza is dropped and Haa will aquire a dammah (Naqle harakah)
