Day 07: 30 Days Excellence Challenge
Tajweed Rule of the Day:
Raa (ر) Rules:
The letter Raa (ر) is pronounced with Thafkheem (heaviness) or Tarqeeq (lightness) based on its harakah (vowel):
Thafkheem: Pronounce the Raa heavily if it has a Fatha (َ) or Damma (ُ).
Example: رَبِّ → "Rabb" (heavy).
Tarqeeq: Pronounce the Raa lightly if it has a Kasrah (ِ) or if it has a Sukoon (ْ) preceded by a Kasrah.
Example: فِرْعَوْنَ → "Fir’awn" (light).
Examples for Clarity:
Thafkheem Examples:
رَحْمَةٌ → "Rahmatun" (heavy Raa because of Fatha).
رُحَمَاءُ → "Ruhamaa’u" (heavy Raa because of Damma).
Tarqeeq Examples:
رِزْقًا → "Rizqan" (light Raa because of Kasrah).
فِرْعَوْنَ → "Fir’awn" (light Raa because of Sukoon preceded by Kasrah).
