Day 08: 30 Days Excellence Challenge
Tajweed Rule of the Day:
Extra Rules of Raa (ر) when Sakin (رْ):
When the letter Raa (ر) has a Sukoon (رْ), its pronunciation (Thafkheem or Tarqeeq) depends on the harakah (vowel) of the letter before it:
Thafkheem: Pronounce the Raa heavily if the letter before it has a Fatha (َ) or Damma (ُ).
Example: قُرْآنٌ → "Qur’aanun" (heavy Raa because the letter before has a Damma).
Tarqeeq: Pronounce the Raa lightly if the letter before it has a Kasrah (ِ).
Example::أُولِي الْإِرْبَةِ →" Uli-l-irbati" (light Raa because the letter before has a Kasrah).
Examples for Clarity:
Thafkheem Examples:
قُرْآنٌ → "Qur’aanun" (heavy Raa because the letter before has a Damma).
خُرْجًا → "Khurjan" (heavy Raa because the letter before has a Fatha).
Tarqeeq Examples:
وَجَاءَ فِرْعَوْنُ→ wa jaa’a fir‘awnu (light Raa because the letter before has a Kasrah).
بِرْدًا → "Birdan" (light Raa because the letter before has a Kasrah).
Today’s Goal:
