Day 27: 30 Days Excellence Challenge

Tajweed Rule of the Day:
Taking a Deep Breath for Long Ayat:
When reciting a long ayah, take a deep breath before starting to ensure you can complete the ayah without stopping unnecessarily. This helps maintain the flow and meaning of the Quran and avoids breaking the rhythm of recitation.

Tips for Reciting Long Ayat:

  1. Take a Deep Breath: Before starting a long ayah, take a deep breath to ensure you have enough air to complete it.

  2. Pause at Appropriate Places: If the ayah is too long, pause only at permissible stopping signs (e.g., ج or صلى).

  3. Practice Regularly: Recite long ayat repeatedly to build your breath control and stamina.

Today’s Goal:
Recite Juz 27 and practice taking a deep breath before reciting long ayat. Focus on completing the ayah in one breath or stopping only at appropriate places (e.g., stopping signs like مـ or ج).

Reflection:
How does taking a deep breath before reciting long ayat help you appreciate the flow and beauty of the Quran? Reflect on how this rule enhances your recitation and connection with Allah’s words.

Meet a Qari of the Day:
Today’s Qari is Sheikh Ibrahim Al-Akhdar, a renowned Qari known for his unique and melodious recitation. His precise application of Tajweed rules makes him an excellent example for learning how to manage long ayat.

Examples of Long Ayat:

  1. Surah Al-Baqarah (2:255) – Ayat al-Kursi:

    • "Allah – there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great."

  2. Surah Al-A’raf (7:54):

    • "Indeed, your Lord is Allah, who created the heavens and the earth in six days and then established Himself above the Throne. He covers the night with the day, [another night] chasing it rapidly; and [He created] the sun, the moon, and the stars, subjected by His command. Unquestionably, His is the creation and the command; blessed is Allah, Lord of the worlds."
