Juzz-27
1. Surah Ar-Rahman :13 -َفَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Then which of your Lord’s favours will you ˹humans and jinn˺ both deny?
The sentence فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ occurs 31 times in the Qur’an
Contemplation : • Surah Ar-Rahman has a unique and captivating structure. •
In the entire Surah, Allah's bounties - worldly as well spiritual - are continuously recounted. The greatest of all bounties is the knowledge of the Holy Qur'an, because it is an all-comprehensive Book directing man in temporal and spiritual matters and in matters relating to this world and the next. • The repetition of the phrase “Which of the favors of your Lord will you deny?” after every verse, emphasizing the countless blessings bestowed upon humanity by Allah. • This repetitive pattern serves as a reminder to acknowledge and be grateful for these blessings. •
The lesson is a call to gratitude, urging believers to recognize and appreciate the myriad favors in their lives and to express thanks through obedience and devotion. Note: Previous surah Al-Qamar mentions about the disbelievers of Makkah who have been warned for their stubbornness which they had adopted against the invitation of the Holy Prophet ﷺ in spite of showing the miracles and warnings against the punishments of previous nations for their disobedience and corruption in the land and the verse فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ (Then how ˹dreadful˺ were My punishment and warnings!) mentioned repeatedly to take admonitions from the lessons and to rectify.
2. Surah Al-Qamar :2 -: مُّسْتَمِرٌّۭ
وَإِن يَرَوْا ءَايَةً يُعْرِضُوا وَيَقُولُوا سِحْرٌ مُّسْتَمِرٌّ ٢
Yet, whenever they see a sign, they turn away, saying, “Same old magic!”
The Word : مُّسْتَمِرٌّۭ (Meaning: continuing) occurs twice in the Qur’an
Recitation Challenge: Correct method of stopping on raa mushaddah.
Tajweed Tip: While stopping on this word Nabr (stress) is done on the raa mushaddah i.e., on first raa sakin with tawassut timing and without exaggeration in the Tikraar (repetition) of it. The raa is read light (muraqqaq) as the letter before raa carries a Kasra.
Note: All verses of Surah Al-Qamar end with the word which has ر as its last letter. Some have shaddah and some without shaddah. It is important to recite correctly by identifying whether the Raa has to light or heavy as per the conditions along with its sifaat of tawasut and tikrar.
