Day 18: 30 Days Excellence Challenge

 Tajweed Rule of the Day:
Huroof al-Muqatta’at (حروف مقطعات):
These are the disjointed letters that appear at the beginning of 29 Surahs in the Quran (e.g., الم, الر, طه, يس). Each letter is pronounced individually and clearly, without merging or elongation. These letters are a unique feature of the Quran, and their meanings are known only to Allah.

Examples for Clarity:

  • Huroof al-Muqatta’at Examples:

    • الم (Alif, Laam, Meem) – Surah Al-Baqarah (2:1).

    • الر (Alif, Laam, Raa) – Surah Yunus (10:1).

    • طه (Taa, Haa) – Surah Ta-Ha (20:1).

    • يس (Yaa, Seen) – Surah Ya-Sin (36:1).

Today’s Goal:
Recite Juz 18 and pay special attention to any Huroof al-Muqatta’at in the Surahs you recite. Focus on pronouncing each letter clearly and distinctly.

Reflection:
How do the Huroof al-Muqatta’at remind you of the miraculous nature of the Quran? Reflect on how these letters deepen your awe and connection with Allah’s words.
