Day 17: 30 Days Excellence Challenge

Tajweed Rule of the Day:
Ikhfa Shafawi (إخفاء شفوي):
When a Meem Sakinah (مْ) is followed by the letter Ba (ب), hide the Meem and pronounce it with Ghunnah (nasalization) for 2 harakat. This is called Ikhfa Shafawi (lip hiding).

Examples for Clarity:

  • Ikhfa Shafawi Examples:

    • تَرْمِيهِمْ بِحِجَارَةٍ → "Tarmeehim bihijaaratin" (Meem Sakinah followed by ب).

    • وَهُمْ بِالْآخِرَةِ → "Wahum bil-aakhirati" (Meem Sakinah followed by ب).

    • عَلَيْهِمْ بِصِيرَةٍ → "Alayhim baseeratin" (Meem Sakinah followed by ب).

Today’s Goal:
Recite Juz 17 and mark every Meem Sakinah followed by Ba (ب). Focus on hiding the Meem with Ghunnah.
