Day 10: 30 Days Excellence Challenge
Tajweed Rule of the Day:
Alif (ا) follows the letter before it in Thafkheem and Tarqeeq:
The pronunciation of the Alif (ا) depends on the letter before it:
If the letter before has Thafkheem (heaviness), the Alif is pronounced with Thafkheem.
Example: صَاعِقَةٌ → "Saa’iqah" (heavy Alif because ص is a Thafkheem letter).
If the letter before has Tarqeeq (lightness), the Alif is pronounced with Tarqeeq.
Example: كَافِرُونَ → "Kafiroon" (light Alif because ك is a Tarqeeq letter).
Examples for Clarity:
Thafkheem Examples:
صَاعِقَةٌ → "Saa’iqah" (heavy Alif because ص is a Thafkheem letter).
طَائِرَةٌ → "Taa’irah" (heavy Alif because ط is a Thafkheem letter).
Tarqeeq Examples:
كَافِرُونَ → "Kafiroon" (light Alif because ك is a Tarqeeq letter).
تَائِبٌ → "Taa’ibun" (light Alif because ت is a Tarqeeq letter).
Today’s Goal:
Recite Juz 10 and mark every occurrence of the letter Alif (ا). Focus on applying the correct rule (Thafkheem or Tarqeeq) based on the letter before it.
Reflection:
How does understanding the rules of Alif help you appreciate the precision and beauty of the Quran? Reflect on how these rules enhance your recitation and connection with Allah’s words.
